Description
THE PIECE
Sourced at an antique market in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in the South of France, this small antique French chair features a dark aged wood frame, handwoven rush seat, ladder back, turned front legs and rounded finials. At just 21 inches high overall, this is a petite, low-profile chair rather than a standard-size dining chair. Its unusual scale gives it a wonderful sculptural quality and makes it especially appealing as a decorative accent, child-size chair, fireside piece, or styled object within a collected interior.
The wood carries years of natural wear and patina, while the woven seat adds texture and reinforces its traditional French country character.

WHAT WE LOVE
Its petite scale is what makes this piece so special. The chunky turned legs, ball finials, aged dark finish and woven seat give it the presence of a much larger chair while keeping it wonderfully compact.
